Speaking about the government’s crackdown on Somali migrant-connected fraud scandals in Minnesota, the situation that has taken the country by storm, Trump Administration Border Czar Tom Homan revealed that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is being investigated for immigration fraud and that “multiple deportations” are coming in regard to the Somali fraud scandal generally.

As background, the Somali migrant community in Minnesota has been accused of pilfering a slew of taxpayer-funded public assistance programs, such as one that was meant to help the parents of autistic children, ultimately stealing billions upon billions of dollars from state and federal taxpayers as part of the scheme.

In response to the scandal, both the fraudsters and government officials broadly seen as being less than harsh on the migrant fraudsters, such as Rep. Ilhan Omar and Governor Tim Walz, have faced the fire of an irate public, with many online calling for all involved to face some very severe consequences. Such was the context of Tom Homan’s commentary on Newsmax about the matter.

In any case, speaking about Rep. Omar, he said, “I just got advised by fraud investigator the other day that I asked the question, ‘Who reviewed the file?’ Says, ‘No, there was immigration fraud involved.’ This statute of limitations became an issue in the last four years when this was first brought up. ‘Who was president? Who runs DOJ?’ So pulling the records now, pulling the files, and we’re looking at it.”

Continuing, he commented on the potential of Omar having committed a deportation-worthy crime, saying, “But this fraud investigator, who I know personally, one of the best fraud investigators in HSI Homeland Security Investigations, said there’s no doubt. He reviewed the file. So I’m running that down this week, matter of fact, and we’ll see.”

That wasn’t all that Homan talked about in the interview. He also commented on the fact that up to half of the Somali community’s visas may be fraudulent, saying that some of them will certainly have their visas stripped given that reality, and that there are “multiple deportations coming” as he and DHS dig into the matter.

Beginning his response, the border czar praised President Trump’s change in policy compared to what was seen under former President Joe Biden, saying, “Thank God President Trump’s in the White House. We’re going to look at all of them. I mean, we’re looking at those here illegally. Of course, we’re going to look at those here under a visa or some sort of, you know, immigration process that are criminals. We’re going to look at national security threats, but those who came through a process that weren’t properly vetted, didn’t provide documentation, who slipped through the Biden’s weak processes on, you know, giving visas…”

Adding to that, he noted that there are numerous deportations on the horizon related to the scandal, saying, “We’re going the whole gamut. President Trump has instructed us go down, and we’re going to deep dive all of this, and we’ll hold people accountable. Yes, there are going to be multiple deportations coming.”

Further, the border czar also said, shortly afterwards in the interview, that those who don’t assimilate or who get on the public dole will be deported. He said, “Unlike the Biden administration, we’re following the Constitution, we’re enforcing the law. We’re not ignoring the law, and you’re right. The proper assimilation is important, and it’s going to be required. Not only that, when they come here under legal program, they’re required to be self-sufficient. They have to prove they’re self-sufficient. So a lot of them, first thing they [do when they get here] is get on the public dole. President Trump put his foot down. And like I said earlier, we’re doing a deep dive on 1000s and 1000s of files, and we’ll hold people accountable.”
